Captain Brackwasser

PS: Antwort gerne in Englisch

Cement Courier is an abomination ....
Eine Fehlgeburt sozusagen.....
First it looks like a small coaster in rather bad shape!
Secondly the measurements given in the xml file do not match the tdw,
which is given as 25 000 tons, that thing would sink it real life
with half that tonnage... Razz
I complained about that before, never heard anything Crying or Very sad
A cement freighter is essentially a dry goods tanker and should look like one Exclamation and it certainly wouldnt "schlepp" containers about Exclamation Question Exclamation
As far as the other ships and the codes I am not quite sure
what they are good for, Since I like the Norilsk,
I simply took the boxes off and run her as a freighter.
Incidently in the game she can not go to her homeport in the white sea.... Confused

I think the special ships is something that needs to be developed, could bring an intresting part to the game.

based on werft info for similar sized vessels (Even the length to width to draft ratio seems a bit odd)

somewhere around 4000 to 6000 tons

example 1 : Peenewerft 2004
Technical data: Length, over all 88.00 m Length, bpp 81.00 m Breadth, moulded 12.80 m Depth, poop deck 7.10 m Depth, main deck 4.75 m Draft, freeboard 4.60 m Draft, ballast 3.49 m Cargo hold capacity appr. 4,600 m³ Container 144 TEU thereof 108 in hold Ballast water appr. 1,630 m³ Speed at an engine output appr. 10 kts of 600 kW 663 min-1 Speed at an engine output appr. 12.3 kts of 1,500 kW, 900 min-1 Crew 7 men + 4 reserve

example 2 : Bodewes 2005

Those are a bit newer, then there is the tantallon castle to look at
and the Gada, the gada is probably the closest to the Cement Courier
as far as origianl game ships are concerned

actully it is easy to check if its somewhat realistic since no ship can weigh more than the water it is in ...

96.5x17x7=11483 so thats roughly total displacement in tons
or cubic meters..

Minus the "pointy ends" and the steel (usually a quarter to a third)
and you would be hard pusched to get half of that in tdw

Exact measurements as Cement Courier !!!
5100 rdw
see here:
hier gucken:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.navymar.com/imagenes/Cem%2520Fast.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.navymar.com/CemFast.htm&h=383&w=725&sz=82&hl=en&start=18&tbnid=9dRZKmqUXaKYyM:&tbnh=74&tbnw=140&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcement%2Bcarrier%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff

Compared to bulkers cement carriers tend to be smaller, 500 to 25 000 tdw

quite a few cement carriers are converted freighters, one example :

I quite agree Exclamation we sure can make the ships, if we can talk RDK into activating some of those special codes...
be interesting to plan trips when you can only haul certain items.

Just one worry, when RDK implements the addon for user created ports, cargo and ships will the origonal game ships and ports still be changable? I hope so as I have altered a few of them to make some ships more usable.
