http://home3.ecore.net/thomas-gronwald/Guenzel/Doktorarbeit.htm

hier die Finnischen/norwegischen Eisklassen:
http://www.wildnis-des-nordens.de/hurtigruten_schiffe_bau.htm

A 4 „E 4“, schwer: 100 A 4 „E 3“, mittelschwer: 100 A 4 „E 2“, leicht: 100 A 4 „E 1“, sehr leicht: 100 A 4 „E“.

translation:
Today I noticed, that all shipping routes have their own probability of ice. Also ships are classified to iceclasses. The ice class of a ship indicates, how ice suited it is. Wasn't it a nice idea to have Season dependent ice on the map of the world (similar to the wind)?
From here is even the computation derivable!

here the Finnish/Norwegian ice classes:

...after ice conditions of the Germanic Lloyds: extrem: 100 A 4?E 4?, heavily: 100 A 4?E 3?, moderately severe: 100 A 4?E 2?, easily: 100 A 4?E 1?, very easily: 100 A 4?E?.

Reinhauen,
Horst

we have some internal flags already for this and we can have seasonal mapping, and also for example the submarine ship we have can travel all the time to all locations !. -- we will have this also quite soon.

I shall tell a Story when I get around to it Smile

I have the Sea Tug "Oceanic" in the game now, had to assign a freight tonnage based on a similar size ship to give it something to do and pay for the fuel ....
here you can find a bit about the history of it:

http://www.seatowage.de/oceanic/

The site is in german, by googling with : Seeschlepper+Oceanic you can get a english translation, a bit funky ....

I gladly send the file to RDK for perusal, I did get the side drawing off a paper model kit I have.
Unfortunately most of my maritime books and models are at my other house.

Added an Ice breaker Fleet.
Nuclear Ice Breaker Sibir, 2 Ice going Freighters and 2 Ice going Tankers .
Game doesn't do nuclear , so I had to give her bunker tanks commensurate with the horse power..... and cargo tonnage to be able to afford her.
43 000 kw that is going to be a huge fuel bill Laughing
Haven't had time to play a game yet to see what will happen
