@RDK

It happended a couple of weeks before, but I was not sure if I made a fault on my side.
It happend again today and now I am quite sure that there was no fault on my side. Following happend:

I have a "main" game running named miami-8.pxs. The auto save function is activated to save daily, auto files are named auto_miami-8.pxs.
Meanwhile, when testing new build user addons I do not use the "main" game but create a test game (e.g. untitled.pxs). During the test an other auto save file (auto_untitled.pxs) is usually created.

Today I wanted to continue my "main" game with the auto save file auto_miami-8.pxs and discovered (for the second time) that the auto saved game was no longer available. Both files auto_miami-8.pxs and auto_untitled.pxs contained the newer test game, the original auto_miami-8-file was gone.

I am very sure this time that I am not responsible for this mix up. Is there an error possible in the programming lines of this function ?

The files concerned are available if necessary.

Regards Sparky

Hi Sparky

This has happened to me too.

It seems that if you load up a saved game, it doesn't matter what the previous game was, the game loads up the previous auto_game automatically. You have to ensure that when you select the saved game, the auto_game has to be renamed by you manually before you start.

Sad

Hi St.Paddy,

nice to know that I'm not the only one with this trouble.
Renaming any file is worthless now, both auto files contain the same game but at different scores (7 days difference).

Let's wait until we know what RDK thinks about this.

yes the files are overwritten if the original gamename is used, the name is not looked up if it exists currently. theautosave was intended original to have a backup if something went wrong.
But I can change this to search for duplicates when saving and bringing a warning or incrementing

But the names of the auto save files are different:
auto_untitled.pxs
auto_miami-8.pxs
Only the first five characters are identical. It looks for me that the program checks only for the first word "auto" and ignores the rest after the underscore.
It is no major problem but somewhat irritating. A correction would be appreciated very much.

I will have a look, but usually the filenames are used completely (I have to program other behavior...)
