What are the most profitable routes to commute between? I'm getting a bit tired of shipping Electronics from San Fransisco to Cape Town, taking back Arms. Especially waiting at Cape Town to get a load of Arms is getting a bit old, especially with the risk of having my ships damaged by warfare.

The routes I travel most to are:
San Fransisco (Electronics) <-> Cape Town (Arms) = 4.5 + 2.0 = 6.5M
Tokyo (Electronics) <-> Rotterdam (Arms) = 3.0 + 2.5 = 5.5M

What routes (and goods) are you using?

Eddy.

hi,

i didn't play the old game for a long time, but if i remember right,
the route Houston Calcutta is also very profitable. ca. 4.5 mio.
sometimes you have to lay up a few days in Calcutta before you
can fetch the right freight.

I guess I need to pick up Electronics in Houston. But what should I wait for in Calcutta? Do they have Arms there as well?

i just downloaded the classic version and played a moment.

first idea: Houston: Chemics (~1.1 mio$)->Calcutta
Calcutta: Textiles (~ 500000 $) -> Houston

but i remember to have had machines there with high rate as freight with limited time.

edit----

just found out that there sometimes are weapons in Houston.
you can transportthem for 2 mio $ to Calcutta

It's been ages since I played the classic version, but I remember a sailing from Australia to South America. Think it was Sydney to Rio, with the occasional high profit stop in Cape Town.

if you want to make BIG money, simply buy the most expensive ships you can afford when prices are low, and sell when high.... Smile

hi Eddy

me and my mum shared a game of Poc

and we always had just 1 route

houston <-------> Calcutta

now when i think of it ,,, hahaha

we had more then 100 biggest hightech ships on that route

so you couldnt see the ships anymore it was just one big line

and if we had to enter a harbour by hand we just pushed the Pgdn button

really cool

greetings Marco

I take the Vancouver - Karachi - route. With the largest ship, I got an order worth $ 11 mill. within 36 days.

Normally, the Electronics orders or Arms orders can reach 3-6 mill.

But the return orders from Karachi is always Textiles worth about mill.

Just remember: Vancouver Harbour is tricky to get out off on your own.

Both in my old amiga days, and now on the iphone, still i find Houston - Calcutta route the most profitable. Sometimes as high as 8-10M during high economy.

I remember i had played long enough to reach 15 years and 1500M company value in the amiga version.. Arrow
