Hi Mr. Klein,

any news from PoC?

Even some shipmodels / ports for Poc Sim3D2 would be welcome (especially a more detailed port of Hamburg Wink ).
And DLCs might even be a good idea to get some funds for further development.
So please ... !

Best Regards,

Christian Todt

Sadly rdklein seems to have little passion left for the project.
I tried approaching him about publishing the game on gog.com in order to raise funds but that didn't end anywhere I guess...

I thought I would stop by and see what the update is on this but sadly it is exactly how i expected, nothing... Not even a reply from RDK.

The game is still being sold for 40 euros and stating on the web site-

"Against violence in computer games?
Support the development of MORE violence-free games by buying a license of Ports of Call."

unsure how this has any relevance to a game that has been sadly forgotten by its creator.

I may check back in 6 months to see that nothing has happened then I will bury my interest in this game for good.

Yes, this is sad.
A POC XXL update is definitely overdue and given this is an old classic it's even sadder as RDKlein is leaving money on the table...

rdklein, I strongly suggest you get in touch with gog.com if you haven't done so already.
They have very flexible arrangements and you might either get help with the software side (they do fix old games to run on newer machines after all) or they may provide you enough payment in advance to hire extra coders.

On top of that, they are the 2nd most popular gaming marketplace and a perfect sales channel for older titles including POC classic!

Please do not abandon this fantastic game, this place is quiet but I would gladly purchase a decent sized POC XXL update.
