Meeting - 1st international Ports Of Call Conference

I don't know guys....

This thought crossed my mind this morning. How about an official POC Meeting ? Since a lot people come from denmark or germany i thought i would be nice to see the people behind the nicks. This is just a thought, tell me what you think about it ....

why not - good idea, lets see where it should be located ? Close to Hamburg for example ?

Lets do a POC "Conference" or something like this ? ! Idea

I would also try to come but Hamburg is to far for most people located in Belgium and the Netherlands, a bit more central place should be good like Dusseldorf or Amsterdam

just spoke to Martin Ulrich, he also finds this idea beautiful Very Happy

Port of Rotterdam might be a nice place,

should be possible to speak with the port authorities to get a nice meeting place, and we can make a conference schedule with some speaker we might get (we have some ideas on this already) -- what do you think on this ?

this will be the 1st Ports Of Call Game Conference.

there we could make a HUGE network POC session (I will quickly finish this part hmmm) -

Well i could also invite you guys to look around on a real ship cause 25march im leaving to a new container-feeder for 2.5 months wich is sailing between Rotterdam and Waterford,Ireland most of the times it stays a few days in Rotterdam as they always have to wait for the cargo. Yes they are not to fast overthere

Sounds like a good idea, if im right, there are also some cheap flights to Rotterdam airport from Germany and surrounding countrys

Wies'n is always great, but in munich there are no container ships ---

Summer time would be best I think also for many.

I think we will prepare some kind of schedule calendar - and everybody can mark a range of "good" days, so we build then a common range or so. --
and we can put some location wishes also there.

will this meeting be one day or a weekend ?

if some of them drive like 5 hours they will be to exhausted to drive back on the same day. also if somebody can't come on eg. saturday he can come on sunday....

i think it should be a good idea to grab a weekend for this event, maybe there is an option to get some major discount at an hotel if everybody takes the same hotel

weekend is a good choice, so some can arrive friday evening or sat. morning, then we finish sonday late afternoon or so,
we can try to get one hotel and a package discount price with some options maybe. We did this with other group meetings in the past and thats very optimized, further we can try to sync it with some general holiday parts for example.
