Hi peeps,

As some people can't get to the meeting to see each other in person, maybe a thread could be started by the management so that people can post pictures of themselves, or perhaps links to their webcams.

I would love to see a webcam in the POC development offices!!

Hi guys,

A few months ago, I used some of the footage from the camera to make a time-lapsed overnight scene from RDK's camera in Munich. I've only just got broadband (to be able to upload it) to share with you.

If you wish me to remove it RDK, then naturally I will.

To view it, you have to Right-click the link below and choose "Save target as" to download it first. Note: it is about 12 MB!

cheers all

Sorry for the broken link, a new one is:

http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290504683&congratulation_page=Y

Here you will have to click "download video" underneath the preview of the video, and then (in the pop-up window) right-click the "download video" button and choose "save target as..."

Hope it works this time! Embarassed

yes - we will try to optimize that all, maybe we get some discounts at least for the hotel costs,
rotterdam is a good place, there are also good airplane connections (and I thing relativly cheap also),
we will target the conference to end of july / beginning of august at the moment, and also starting friday evening to sunday afternoon.
then we we try to get some speakers also ! (captains etc. welcome)

I agree with RDK because Rotterdam is really a pretty good
place for a big event.
I hope that we will have an unforgetable weekend with many diskussions
about POC.
Hope that organisation will start soon.

Yup lets hope so, im gone tomorrow for 2.5 months, have to board the ship in Rotterdam and tomorrow night we set sail for Drogheda, Ireland

I heard from various people that the ship is running on a nice liner service sometimes it even stays 4 days in Rotterdam so not to bad as it always has a berth near the city only a few mins with the taxi

we will prepare a schedule and registration forms soon I think - we have to check the situation in rotterdam for the exact dates , we also have to try to get some speakers (any volunteers welcome !)

looks like end of july to aug, weekend starting friday late afternoon (arrival phase) and ends at sunday late afternoon (loose end or so), --

In the "schlepper" pocsim 3D topic I mentioned a company called MSR who operates sailing-simulators around the world for crew and operator training.

http://www.msr-r.nl

Good idea paying these guys a visit with the poc convention visitors ?!

Rotterdam's Maritime Museum also is a great idea to pay a visit during the convention...

http://www.maritiemmuseum.nl/

I live near Rotterdam. And I visit a lot of companies in the Rotterdam harbour area for my work. Big bulk terminals you name it. I've seen the Jahre Viking at the EMO site a couple of times. On a visit to the EMO bulkterminal I visited this particular ship !

Many possibilities to have some R&R during the convention...

Kind regards,

poc crazy Gert from the Netherlands...
