Hallo Bearsie,

(Rule of Thumb)
Sollte nun weniger Geld verdienen

_________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

New DSR coaster, MS Ossmannstedt, 1974, 3000 tdw
Next will be the "Vorwärts" ex Gerda Cordes of 1917.
she became the 1st sea going ship of the DSR around 1950.
A small, steam driven freighter or medium coaster, depends on one's view I suppose
I haven't really gotten into the whole xml change over yet, due to lack of time...

New on the website:
The steamer Vorwärts ex Grete Cords originally build in 1905
became the 1st seagoing ship of the DSR around 1950.
I believe it was salvaged and then repaired over a period of time in Rostock.
In the years immediately after the war the Russians had 1st call on anything of value and the East Germans had to scramble and "make do" with the left overs....
I decided to show the ship in both guises, Your choice

Brand new coaster "Soneck" 1966, 1170 tdw, build by Kremer in Elmshorn
for a owner captain. Went on time charter to DDG Hansa for quite some time.
All details are directly from the builder ( other than price) and should
be correct unless I made a typo.
The "Hansa" is usually known for their heavy-lift ships.
Actually their other business was general freight into the mediterranean
and the middle east with ships from about a 1000 tdw to around 6000 tdw.
The 3rd leg of their business was offshore vessels and also some bulkers.
I have enough of them now that I will eventually give them their own
page a'la Hapag.
One could conceivably play a game just with Hansa or Hapag ships.
Or concrete coasters.

The Sternenfels is already in my game , alas I have to redraw her
to make her "presentable" ....
I went to the Red Sea on her, sans air conditioning...
Those were the days when brand new Borgward trucks (B4500 and such) were plying the dusty plains of northern Sudan. _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

Created new page for the DDG Hansa fleet
Added the Sternenfels.
With 4000 tdw she was a standard sized freighter, working a Liner
service from Bremen to the Red Sea via the Med.
Machinery and consumer goods outbound to Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. U
sually homebound from Port Sudan with Cotton.
Took like 10 days to load all that cotton by hand, the locals made quite a show of it...
Also added the Rolandseck, a coaster of 2000 tdw used for traffic into the Med.
A few more in the pipeline...

2 more.
OSV Kattenturm, 1966
And a special "mini" heavy lift vessel the MS Mariaeck of 1280 tdw, 1969.
This one is special she has ramps front and rear and 80 ton derricks
so I cooked the xml file up a bit.
Also made a cargo just for that with a weight of 120 tons @ Container.
Alas I am still playing with it to get the pricing right...
I just labeled the cargo "Lok" (german shorthand for Locomotive)
could be: Schwergut - Project Cargo.
Suggestions are welcome
Got a few more on the stocks
Noch ein paar auf der Helling

May Odin sprinkle lucky dust over all of You
Not much new on site besides a few horse heads
Working on a germanised elevator, its in testing as we speak.
As well as a few other german control panels and a
auslauf and einlauf file with a coaster rather than ugly
box ships
Greetings and best wishes, Bearsie.
