Hallo,
has anybody experienced the strange problems with Pana- Suezmax?

Max is good and true, but ifa bulker of about 65000 t is Suezmax, there has to something wrong, I think.

Or could anybodygive me a hint, where to change the Suez and or Panama limits?

Thanx

Björn

What ship, what year? havn't run that kind of ship leately but pan-max is about 75 000 but really based on dimensions.
Suez max is quite a bit more.
If this is a "home made" vessel perhaps one of the dimensions is off?

The ship, which really brought my minds to a run, is a home-made vessel. The handy-bulker DOROTHEA, 1982, loa 214m, breath I think something like 28 m with 65000 t.

Thats really no Suezmax-stuff.

I have to admit, that I am still trying to navigate through the lines in ship.xml.
Checked already to set the dimensions down on the dimensions of a vessel, which is NOT Suezmax. Failed also.

Now I am little bit at the end.

That is StickyMonks ship! I had the same Problem with her.

The Problem is caused by the draught of the ship.
Code:
<tiefgang>18.00</tiefgang>
is to much for Suez and Panama channel.
I think StickyMonk has confounded the draught of the ship with the height of the hull (often called deep).

I have changed the value to 15 m, thats the max for Panama channel i think. I think it is still to much, but i could not find the real values for that ship.

But there is one more failure with this ship!
The picture shows the 1984 build 22.025 dwt bulker Dorothea (IMO 8309438, with loading gear), tha data are from the 1981 build 65.535dwt bulker Dorothea (IMO 7917109, No loading gear!).

However, it is nevertheless one of the best ships at the beginning of the 80's!

The real maximum draft for suezchannel is 16m (53ft) but you maximum draft should a little bit less, if you calculate sqat.
