Here's a poll for everyone: Which continent do you think needs more ports? After answering, suggest some ports. I think North America needs more, such as Baltimore and New Orleans.

Also, there is a constant tanker shuttle with tankers loading in Valdez, Alaska for Seattle and San Fransico- you might want to incorporate this into the game.

The North American ports that I think could be added are:

New Orleans - a lot of cargo movement, especially grains

Baltimore or Hampton Roads (Virginia) - the middle part of the eastern seaboard of the United States is under-represented given there are no ports between New York and Miami.

Glad to see Pusan added and Honolulu's name change.

Perhaps some ports in Russia would be nice. Like ports at the Barentssee where u could only go with ships that are able to brake ice...

I've added 117 additional ports to my game which definetelly makes it more fun, its brilliant that you can do this in the first place.

Ports I've put on are. Immingham, Tallinn, Klaipeda, Gdansk, Casablanca, Nouakchott, Chittagong, Constantza, Dammam, Yanbu, Haifa, Riga, Port Kelang, Beira, Tunis, Luanda, Belem, Doula, Tianjin, Split, Port Said, Suva, Batumi, Visakhapatnam, Padang, Freetown, Lome, Apia, Limassol, Acajutla, Conakry, Port Sudan, Darwin, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Southampton, Liverpool, Valparaiso, Jeddah, Osaka, Beirut, Wellington, Latakia, Haiphong, Nassau, Receife, Sundsvall, Gijon, Cadiz, Trieste, Belfast, Pointe Noire, Dubrovnik, Inchon, Koper, Samarinda, Dubai, Lobito, Durres, Mersin, Samsun, Santo Domingo, Odessa, Dunkerque, Guayaquil, Broome, Vladivostock, Las Palmas, Walvis Bay, Georgetown (Cayman), Corpus Christi, Savannah, Bordeaux, Guaymas, Victoria (Seychelles), Mogadishu, Port Elizabeth, Aden, Melbourne, Tampico, San Jose, San Lorenzo, Novorossiysk, Mariupol, Stettin, Mantyluoto, Keelung, Cochin, Delfzijl, Port Moresby, Rabaul, Lae, Papeete, Teesport, Hobart, Paranagua, Salvador, Itajai, Montevideo, Xiamen, Ningbo, Qingdao, Sanya, Duluth, Damerera, Paramaribo, Bandar Abbas, East London, Maputo, St.Johns (Antigua), Bridgetown, Castries, Port of Spain, Port-au-Prince, New Orleans, Mobile.

Sorry for the mixed up order, this is the order I added them to my game, I'm writing them from my town0 file.

I would also like different types of cargo such as grain, coal and iron ore that could not be carried in containers, only in general cargo or bulk carriers.

I would like to see some more ports in fx. south america, and i hope that some day we can get some oil cargo from south america. It would also be a good idea, if we could have so more ports in the middle east, for oil cargo. Smile

Probably a few ports on most any continent RDK Wink

I would like maybe a few Baltic Ports added as well as Trondheim or Narvik and Murmansk. Murmansk is after all the homeport of the Norilsk.
Alas the Baltic Ports could use a bit more cargo too...

Perhaps there can be a thread or a section for posting of new port data with format similar to in game and organized according to region and alphabetized automatically so user made ports - like Robinhoods - can be entried there and compare and contrast with others to find which is best so no need to repetition for final, and others can just pick and choose whichever one they like.

Being an old reefer man myself and the reefer trade being one of the most profitable, i would like to have some more banana loading ports in the caribean and west coast south america. (turbo and santa marta/colombia, port limon/costa rica, guayaquil/ecuador for instance. from colombia alone an daily amount of 15 to 20000 tons of bananas is being shipped to europe) furthermore i suggest to add some more and faster reefer vessels. even in the 1970ties the 'bananenjaeger' have been making 23 knots instead of the mere 15 knots of geest bay.
other main reefer trades are f.i. kiwis/apples from new zealand to zeebruegge, apples/grapes from south africa to europe, citrus fruit from los angeles to japan, apples/grapes/vegetables from valparaiso to california and many more.

what ya think ?

to help us we need:

1. harbour description + coordinates (GPS)
2. copyright fere fotos of teh harboru (for the bull eye) with origin...
3. a map in coreldraw (top view), lines is sufficient or an arcade harbour.
4. berth list.

as this showed up to be very time consuming (we still work on the old harbour for pocsim2d ) we really need help to get more in.
