The (almost) brandnew steam tug Auguste just made it onto the Imperial Glory page.

I had a very old foto of her but have not been able to find any real info
so I went by looks and such, the picture shows her busy in Hamburg around the turn of the century.

PS: any info is appreciated

The (Barkentine ?) Adela just arrived.
Same trouble as the Auguste. No matter where I looked I couldn't find a proper match, so I again went by general appearance.
And decided that her smashing good looks made her definitely a scottish girl Very Happy

She is on the sail page, all 1500 tons of her, heaving bossom (err bow)
and all Very Happy

PS: if anyone finds any info whatsoever I gladly correct the xml file.

The harbor of Matadi, Kongo/Zaire/Congo has been added.
Took a bit of digging....
It is THE sea port of the Congo, from there everything goes by train to Kinshasa and then by Spits Wink into the jungle Laughing

When I get to it I'd probably do Barranquilla first that is the major port in the north, besides I have been there Smile

Not all of them but looking Smile
Amazing that the Pommern only had a crew of 23 when the MS Krefeld with 6000 tdw had 42 !
I used to read the books by Allan Viviers et al about those ships and Captain Erikson in the day before google Smile
Finland has other treasures as well, like the river-sea coaster Unterelbe,
link: http://www.unterelbe.com/ in several languages.

Which is just as well since Finnish is one of the few languages I never mastered, despite the fact that the first great love of my life was from Loviisa and that I worked for a Finnish company (Kone Cranes) for 11 years ...

In an effort to compete with Stickymonk LLC in the cement carrier business I got a bit sidetracked and ended up looking at concrete ships instead !
2 Concrete ships from a series of 60 from WW2 are still afloat in Germany
one in Bremen as a disco, the MS "Treue" the other as a Museum in Rostock, MS "Capella" she was in use until 88 or so as a barge.
I personally met one of those as a working coaster in the mid 60's in the Baltic...

should be online as soon a colors and such are finalised Very Happy
