Hi I have just loaded the ship, Larissa K, with 1200 trucks, and when I sat the speed, it tells me that I could only use 63%, of the max speed, and then I sat the speed to about 60% of max. One or two days after it was going on the sea, it sunk. I dont understand that, because I have not changed at thing, in that cargo file, so whats wrong. The trucks cargo is one of the file, that RD Klein made, in the last update, so it should be ok, but not in my game. My ship was at the time between 98-100% repaired. _________________ Poc is a lifestyle |

there are two things to be considered when loding a ship.
1. the space (expressed in teus)
2. the weight
this also applies for trucks, as you have only trucks and not mixed with cars, its lkikely to overload the ship, as the space is fileed but the its also overloaded,
then a) the ship cannot travel with full speed b) if you get into a storm it will sink. |

The Trucks are done by Bearsie and they were in the last update as demonstration of the new User_addon Feature. Same with my ships Remuera Bay and Heemskerck and my Port Ras Laffan.
One Truck weights 22 Tons. 1200 Trucks are to heavy for Larissa K, thats why she sunk! _________________ Visit http://www.pocshipyard.de for free ships and harbours |

When it says you can only go at 63% of max it means that full speed with current load is 63% of rated maximum.
Normally a ship loaded to 100% of it's weight capacity can go as fast as 95% of rated maximum, and if you overload the top speed will drop further.
63% indicates quite a bit of overload, like 20% or so, I think...
Then it's not strange why your ship went down.

The trucks weighing 22 tons ech, and 1200 weighing 26400 tons. The max loading capasity, for Larissa K is 20000 tons, that gives about 6400 tons overload. So no matter what the Trucks weighing too much pr. unit. _________________ Poc is a lifestyle |

just an idea to you:
enable the checkbox " protect ship from overloading"
you're safer then, and if you are sure that it doesnt matter if you overload a bit you can disable.

Just try to load the 1200 Trucks, in Larissa K, and see, what happened.
I am just sure, that no matter what it will be going down. _________________ Poc is a lifestyle |

Trucks in the goods file weigh 22 ton. They show as trailers in the ship
xml file. This has been discussed several times already....
To protect the ship from sinking one has to take the tdw of the ship/22 = number of permissible trucks.
Then change that number in the xml file in the line "trailers" (908 in the case of Larissa K).
Since the Larissa K is one of the original ships this has to be redone every time you update the game, since during an update the file will be overwritten to the original value.
Like I said, this has been discussed at length in the past on several occassions...
Basically we are still waiting on RDK to add goods codes that would enable us to separate Campers from Trailers and such.
since trucks and "real" trailers are set by us at 22 ton but use the same code (21) as camping trailers at 2.2 or some such. So this issue will remain until it is solved. _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

another solution is not to use the Larissa K but only addon ships for trucks an Mafi, Since these addon ships are set up for it and won't change during an update. _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

This is not my fault. If you look, in the new useraddon map, you will find, at cargofile, called Trucks, Each truck weighing 22 Tons.
If you load Larissa K with 1200 Trucks it will weigh 26400 Tons.
That gives you an overload, of 4400 Tons, and with that result, yor ship will go down.
You can find the Trucks in Las Palmas.
So I dont see, it is my fault, that I lost the ship. _________________ Poc is a lifestyle |

you can limit the number of trucks you load. Or switch to the overload protection mode of pocxxl, which should prevent it and takes care on the weight also (if not I have to check my program). |

the normal freight for larissa k are normal cars. its quite consequent that your ship sinks when you load the same amount of trucks...

Checking the overload protection will not work in this case!
The ship (not just the Larissa K) will sink....
I have overload protection checkmarked as my default on all ships.
That is a program glitch, at least partially caused by using the same good(s) code 22
Agreed, all ANR has to do is reduce the number of trucks on the Larissa K to 908 exactly. _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |
