...It'd be awfully nice if someone could do a program for the clueless among us who can't competently mess with XML and the like, to automatically add/remove addons...

When it's possibble that all the file's are in a big one,and whe can place it easy in our game then i'm verry happy.
It's for a old one like me at the moment a hard thing to play now.
