Why is Australia a warzone in the game?

I've been away from PoC for a couple of years, and I remember this being discussed on the forum back then.

And please look at Ireland, too.
It is a very peaceful country.

If it's possible, time dependent would be really nice. Make the mideast a warzone from basically 1945-1973, the persian gulf one from 1980-89, etc.

How about doing something to the warzone, in HongKong. I have been attacked there many times.

AFFIRMATIVE - we've had this discussion already in the forum.

But it is not restricted to war zones or unsafe harbours and shipping areas.
Names of countries and ports have changed since the fifties.
New ports have been built since.
Export and import goods, amount of cargoes shipped and required, have changed.
Ports have enlarged their gateway locks.
The Great Lakes access has been rebuild with a new canal/lock system.
Cargo handling and repair services have been modernized (number of berths and dock sizes increased) .... what else?
I'm sure there is more to consider and you can name it.

I would really like to see this "time dependant system" vitalized - and would like to help (if knowledge is available) Very Happy

But keep in mind that it's not always easy to gather all that information for all ports.

You are right. To collect all these informations is surely no work to be done by RDK and his crew. But they could prepare the software to deal with changing events.

Largely all information should come from us, the users. I believe most of the poc gamers live near the sea, have gone to sea or are still working onboard ships. There should be a big pool of recollections.

BTW just another important fact crossing my mind: The Suez Canal was closed for several years after the war between Israel and Egypt (from June 1967 till June 1975) and also earlier in 1956/57 ("Suez crisis").

Easy Change:
Open the town0.xml an search the line <kriegsrisiko>?</kriegsrisiko> for each town. Change it to 0 or from 0 to any other number you wish. Thatīs it Wink
