|

A have a suggestion for POC XXL economic / non simulator play:
Removal of the tug screens to speed up gameplay and make it fair and less annoying.
The tug screens asks for manual or tug in or out of the port. The screens are similar to POC classic, where you didn’t have the option to switch of the 2d simulator and you where forced to control your vessel in or out the port. However with POC XXL you can switch this of and you do not need to pilot vessels. I my opinion you are not allowed to chose manual control, when manual control is switched of to avoid tug costs.
I see myself as a ship owner / reder not the captain. In stead of giving you the choice it should be set to tugs. If there is a tug-strike you can prompt a message box (same as toll suez/panama channel) that stats that your employed captain had to steer out by hand. An other screen can be prompt after this one if the captain made an error and damaged the vessel. In the current situation this also can occur when pressing manual control with the simulator switched off.
The economic gameplay is ok for the radar and all other maneuver events, but I believe tug choise screen was forgotten. Why should the game ask me if I want to steer by hand when they simulator is off. I play in economic mode because I find the simulating event to time consuming. When I want to use the simulator I start a training in the office. When you have a fleet with more the 100 vessels the tug screens a lot of time is lost in literally clicking trough all the tug screens. RDK can this be changed PLEASE!
Cheers, Novex |

as far as i know, a random generator deceides,
if your berthing progress was successful or not if the sim is switched off.
Maybe it would be nice to have a mark or something in the tug screen
like 'dont ask me anymore' so it will take your first choice as standard.
so if you like to save the money, then you can decide to steer by hand and leave a mark to set this as standard.
if this were possibile, i would be the best soluton i think.
best regards,

| This must be the case

| I agree... You save money by not using tugs, however you take on the risk that you vessel might be damaged for time to time.
I like the Don't ask me anymore idea!

Why, You as owner should then decide of the captain has do the job of everything can be handled. Then a "generator" will handle if there is a damage and what kind of damage..
But it should be nice to have somekind of a "remind me" option |

If possible add two more options in case of a tug strike: pay strike-breakers (about 2-3 times the normal price) or wait/lay off for another day.
I did only some small test with 2D-action turned off but AFAIR you always have to pay the tugs to enter port. |

Here is a draft proposal sleeping in my drawer for a long time. I just kept it back because RDK's to-do-list is long enough already.
Why do we have to make our choice for using sim 2D, 3D or none at the start of the game. Situations changes while playing poc and it is sometimes not convenient to start a long 3D procedure even if you had chosen it beforehand.
Why can we not choose the procedure of entereing a harbour when the task is due? I made up two entry screens to what I think might be a solution. The upper part with picture and some datails of the vessel concerned is just to remind you what ship of your fleet you are dealing with. Other proposals are welcome. My concerns are the three buttons lower left to choose the procedure to follow.

Looks nice indeed Sparky! The only thing I have to add is that your last choice is selected by default. That means only hit <enter> and your ship is handled the way it was the last time.
A "don't ask me again" button would be great as well, but you'll still need to sail into the harbour when the tugs are on strike (or you wait, of course). _________________ _______________________________________

I must admit that the "don't ask me again" button is no choice for me because I want to decide as the case arises. There are beautiful ports I love to enter with 3D-sim, other tricky or dull ones I'd rather avoid when tugs are on strike and I remain outside until the strike ends. No case is like the other. That's why I don't want the game to remember my last click.
But for the friends of this feature there should be space enough in the window for a click box.

Hi Sparky,
My idea of the game remembering the last click was merely to select the last choice, not to choose it (i.e. when you want the tugs to do the job, you click on the tugs-button. The next time the screen pops up, you can click enter when you want the tugs to do it again, and can select other options if you like). _________________ _______________________________________

- Immer "Mit Schlepper" einlaufen
- Immer "Mit Schlepper" auslaufen
- Vorgegebene Geschwindigkeit: XXX %

- Ausgangsort/Kontinent
- Zielhafen/Kontinent
- Hafen
zu bekommen, so dass man z.B. Australien + Asien oder London + Hamburg + Amsterdam auswählen kann? |
