GOOD news !
The POC classic port is now shortly before RELEASE ! I succeeded in porting it using the NDK in the last days !
Its just playable but I have to make some interface adaptions as keyboard (currently a dummy fill) and maybe use the same as at iPhone for shiip control, as the controls are very small. And sound is missing.
pocxxl must wait a little bit for android (and iphone, imac) |

Not yet will be like the iphone version I assume.
Looks very good, now I have to add the sound and soft keyboard, with hardware keyboards its already playable.
Also SAVE and LOAD has to be added (I think the sdcard would be a good place for the saved games ?! ) |

I keep checking the Android Market every day for POC classic...
When XXL is done for Android, will it be customisable like the PC version? _________________ Cheers

I keep you updated, progress is good, but some days needed for the interface (keyboard thing) - with a hardware keyboard its now working.
NOT YET ON THE MARKET PLACE - as I got some mails people searching it .. as soon as I tested all it gets published. |

yes keyboard works, I decied to buld my own overlay. Save load stable, its already playable.
Now I just work at a UTF-8 to DOS table translation for the languages (I forgot that they were in UTF-8 as I use the iPhone version) Android doesnt had the prpert codde page translator -- but thats close to finish (just the C2,C3 sets of UTF-8,
then final I need to rework the ship control. Its working already, but very hard to hit the small lines on small devices -- I want to port the iPhone version were I used two sprites liek a gamepada control when hitting the source - part is also done,
last is the start screen with a nice language selectiion at the beginnign of the game. |

UTF-8 is working now, languages look ok, though I found some faults on the french version (this is also on the last iPhone version I assume). There is s trick CODEPAGE 850 to AMiga translation in the old code. |

This sounds great.
Can hardly wait
My brother and I are waiting in excitement
The memories are still on the early days playing the DOS-version on a slow 486 (or playing on the way-to-fast-to-handle-my-boat-pentium-PC)
Have bought the PoC Classic / XXL, but still need the Android version on the go
(May soon need an extra battery for my phone ...) |
