I just evaluate two implementations for the iMac 1. using Swift, 2. using SDL2 --- the 2nd also will help porting poc again to other platforms, 1. makes it easy to reimplement the POC version also for iPhones etc. -- it will be based on the Android POC version of the Classic Code, which has some improvements, also a new Windows version can result on the SDL2 implementation. I changed some limites of the classic on the max ship dispaly, which is done in the Android version already. |

I for one would definitely like to see POC Classic released for the MacOS.
If option #2 makes it easier to get the game back on iOS then that seems like the natural choice.
P.S. Would be interesting if you could create a scenario/port designer module for people to use in designing the mini-game where you have to steer the ship around icebergs or dock in ports. And then allow users to submit their levels for inclusion.
More scenarios... plus more ports, eventually more ships and other fun stuff... the Classic version can still go a long way. |
