I try to control my ships in 2D mode but the response is very slow, I have to give up the mision all the time beacause of this, When I use the 3D mode everything is going perfect.

Help me please

what is the grafic card you use, please try to update the driver,
2d should be always faster (still running on a 300 MHz CPU), so something is wrong -
also check the settings of the grafic card, especially all accelleration check boxes.
