added a map for Colon and Panama City, it is the same one, one time it would be map24 next time map64, it simply shows both harbors
Added Tunis and Tripoli, I did a fair amount of research on these 2 places.
But should you not be happy with the cargo's you can always change them _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

turns out after some research that Tunisia has a rather large shipyard
with 4 drydocks an hour north of Tunis, so I changed the town file accordingly
You can google "Socomena" for details

Added, Haifa, Israel - Odessa, Ukraine
and by special request from a norwegian co-player, the harbor of
Brønnøysund / Bronnoysund, Norge/Norway/Norwegen
a romantic little town in northern Norway and a stop on the Hurtigroute
It even has a mountain with a hole in it! Torghattan... presumably a drunk
Viking poked that hole into it.

MV Emma Maersk has been added to the High Tech Page
All Particulars are correct as far as I could find them,
there are some gray areas however...
Maersk says: 11000 TEU the press says: up to 14000 TEU
based on industry standards, I split the difference and
made it 12500 TEU.
Horsepower is given as 80 000 kw however it is mentioned
that 2 electric motors are coupled to the shaft, but
no kw (or hp) is given, while another press release mentions
2 Aux diesels with 20 000 kw. Presumably the value
of the electric motors has to be somewhat less than 20 000 kw
but more than zero ....
No value available as to bunkers carried, or consumption at full speed.
I used therefore the game default based on her kw
and gave her bunkers enough to get there from here....
Gross tonnage, for some odd reason I couldn't find it,
the one number I saw looked more like loaded displacement
tonnage rather than GT, so I used a number based on
Tankers/bulkers for that.
I'll correct it as soon as I have the proper numbers
The price is from a press release that says: in excess of 145 million $.
The view you see is a public domain photo, no
containers loaded, I might add them if I feel like it, someday.

You are welcome to put containers on her decks
I doubt that I will be using her much since I usually start
in 1975 and she doesnt fit into my fleet sizewise anyways.
Matter of fact I added some of your smaller vessels to some
of my games
I dug around the net for another hour and all errors are fixed ...
I recommend downloading the new "improved" txt file _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

For some odd reason I had the Emma Maersk only listed at 80 000 tdw
while she actually has around 157 000 tdw.
The error has been fixed.

I tend to have a mixed fleet of small medium and large ships on my game, including several of your coasters (although I resized them to make them smaller), they never make money but they dont lose that much, one of my ULCC tankers makes up the short fall for a whole fleet of small ships
I have still not got past 1986 yet, I spend to much time building new ships! Also I always play with 8 players so it takes even longer....
Also one good thing about having loads of ships is that I have a simple rule, only one company can have a class of ship, hence why I have several ULCC & VLCC tankers for early on, wouldnt be fair for one company to have the Jahre Viking and no one else can have one like that for years. _________________ Cheers

Added pocxxl world map to website on the harbor page

After years of grumbling about the black "goo" in my tanks and several
only partially successfullattempts to change the look of the fuel page.
Sightglasses and such, which were hard to line up and required changing 3 files... I think I finally came up with an elegant solution that looks
pretty and only requires 1 file (pocxxl/images/fuel2.png
Tell me what you think folks.
I put 6 different color samples on the Bearovia site on a new page called Fuel, they show what a half full tank would look like.
Essentially like clear Diesel in the common trade colors

Not much news here.
Been playing with sailing ships and tug boats.
Tried special cargo for tugs, was only partially successful.
once I have the final touches on them I will put them on the web site.
About 6 each, from smallish to medium large _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |
