OK, the question is really simple actually.
As discussed in several threads before, the current interface of 800x600 pix seems a little outdated.
What is your preferred resolution for the interface?
I've added each format twice, once with pop-ups (the current "Start in a window") and one with side bar (the current full screen mode)
Mine is my screenres: 1280*1024, with pop-ups for the messages. When I play full-screen I really don't check the messages, so don't know what's happening, that's why I like the pop-ups. _________________ Freight Containers In The Port Of Antwerp |

larger than 1024x768 will have problems for most notebook users. |

I like the sidebar because pop ups are usually about things i can't change anyways, so why would I have to click to acknowledge them ? _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

I know, as they mostly have a widescreen, with a reduced height (or extra width ). This poll is just to check what people want. Other (technical) problems can always be tackled later on. _________________ Freight Containers In The Port Of Antwerp |

I have a 1366x768 (16:9) wide screen monitor, but 1024x768 (4:3) would be enough... |

I also think 1024x768 would be best, my rusty old computer is running 1152x864, I dont know what my new one with a 19" monitor will be running when I finally get round to buying it... _________________ Cheers

I agree that usually you can't do anything about the reported events, and then a simple message at the side is perfect.
However, in the rare cases that I can do something I want the game to automatically pause until I've acted on the info.
One problem is that most messages are delivered too late: Your ship has run out of fuel, cargo was to be delivered today, etc.
I'd rather have a warning a couple of days before all fuel is gone or the cargo is to be delivered, so that I can adjust the speed properly.
(Most problematic is when I'm running low on fuel because I run the ship on full speed in order to deliver the cargo only a day or two late.)
Cheers

Hello!
Why not make the program window independant from the resolutiuon?
While maintaining a miniumum size at 600x600 or 1024x768, the window could grow in size if the resolution allows it, thus removing the nessessity to use scrollbars in the many screens.
Elements with fixed sizes could be scaled, as you already use flash or similar in the game. (And even if such elements like the main map cannot be scaled, i'd rather have them just centered in the large window, when in turn the freight-screens are besser accessible.)
Cheers!

Flash is a vektor based program, most can be scaled without problems, but also gets tremendous speed problems-try to scale the intro flash of pocxxl for full screen and without a very fast cpu it will almost freeze.
Designers will also get cracy on scaled images (try to scale up the ship images side view by a factor of 16 for example). Usually you get a very unsharp image especially if you scal by something like 1.4 or so.
of ycourse you can scale down large images, but how large shall the images be then - pocxxl will grow to GBytes. |

My standard resolution is 1280x1024 on a 19" flat screen.
Until last month I used Astragon POC classic ed. which offered only 1024x768. That caused problems when I had to switch between poc and desk top without closing poc. All other software were forced to open in the low resolution given by poc, causing much discomfort.
After buying pocxxl I switched to 1280x1024 which runs perfectly with my current equipment.
Guess my vote |

@rdklein meinen sie die auflösung meines monitors (im mom 1680*1050)? im spiel habe ich keine einstellung gefunden.
bei poc classic editon kann ich die auflöung einstellen, dann regelt das spiel die auflösung meines monitors selber
gruß
