I did'nt find anything written about this vessel, neither in the manual nor in the forum. The click box appears sometimes on the right side of the freight windows.
What is it good for?
Is it a kind of war risk insurance, useful when loading cargo for ports were these evil tanks appear shooting 15% off your ship's condition?
When yes how good is the performance of this escort, what is the actual effect?
Or is it additional transportation space, hired for one voyage to carry more amount of cargo? How does that work? |

It is additional voyage insurance, you will notice that the price goes up big time when your destination is a high risk port.
And yes, it works _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

Thanks, nice to know.
Will the click box only appear when I load cargo for a risky port?
Vice versa, no click box - no war risk? |

Right or wrong? I had to continue my game to confirm memories.
When clicking through the choice of freights for my vessel in Fort Lauderdale I observe the clickbox popping up and vanishing. It's depending on the destination port, if it is located in a conflict area or not.
I checked the XML-files for the respective ports and found the entry
<kriegsrisiko>3</kriegsrisiko>
responsible for this. If the parameter is zero, there will be no choice for an escort vessel.
It would be nice if RDK could spend some words of explanation to this item in the final issue of the manual.
Looking foresight:
Conflict areas have no permanent live in the world's history, thence the value for Kriegsrisiko for each port should be adapted to the contemporary history.

True enough but even in the time from 75 to now , all sorts of things have changed, including names of countries and harbors.
I suspect that would be a horrendously huge and complicated rewrite of the game to have all the historically correct facts for every single year of the game.... _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

this was the idea, but I have to check if the condition in the program is properly checked. |

Nope, but its very small on the right side of the cargo screen, just before you depart, it appears above the depart button.
Just click for destination Lagos for example and the box appears.
Klick on a peaceful destination and it disappears again.
The price varies based on the risk of the destination chosen. _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |
