Berthing:
a question which appears often -

1. you need to bring the ship +-10 degree within the squared field (align it to the borders.

2. You need to set full stop, e.g. use the ZERO keys to set the ship exactly to stop.

3. the direction +- 180 degree should be taken care on, in the first release we usually dont care but for poc amiga it was necessary for all berths.

departing:

thats easier, the exit of the harbour must be travelled through. same applies for ice fields etc, there you need to travel trhough the destination field.

save the lifeboat:
the most complicated part, your ship must be about the same speed as the raft and SAME direction (+-10 deg).

Indeed there is a small problem we found:

When a berth points exactly to the left side the tolerance for berthing is
+0 .. +10 degree for the ship instead of -10 .. +10 degree.

that is turn the ship a little bit to starboard.

For all other berth dirctions its no problem, you can also berth in the wrong direction (180 degree) which also solves the tolerance.

by the way, teh old amiga version only accepted 0..+5 degree tolerance (which we changed already fro the iPhone but not completely).

update will come soon, also some other nice enhancements.Smile

Could we have some clarification about what gains and loses you status.

I know the following

Gain status
docking and leaving ports manually
buying high tech ships
saving the life raft.
Turning down dodgy deals?

Lose status
ramming the raft
crashing your boat ?
Taking dodgy deals
shipping arms ?

Are these correct ?
I don't seem to gain status for navigating icebergs
(my regular route is San fran to cape town )

you loose a little bit status when selling a ship, you gain status for cape horn once passed for example. Icebergs should give status when being successful.

If you gain status from Icebergs then there is a bug in the iphone version.

I have 17 ships going through the Icebergs and even though I never hit them I also never get an increase in Status Smile
