I put the proper profile of the Imme Oldendorf on the site,
the other one (with changed smokestack) is still available as General-SD14

Christian Todt is kind enough to store quite a few bearovian ships,
he has updated his site to make it easier to download them.

CT Web can be found here ==>> http://home.arcor.de/ctodt

Just follow the directions from there and enjoy your visit to Christians Home Page Smile

Anchorage and Valdez Alaska have been added.
Anchorage has over 5 million tons of cargo traffic annually.
Of course you can always google them, or look them up on Wikipedia.

Added MS Ilmenau a member of the DSR Fleet on the DDR Page.

Also added the USS Reluctant of Mr. Roberts movie fame on the oldie page.
I did this one on blue print color, a civilian version to follow later.
all details are correct. They had a lot of extra equipment onboard,
hence the low payload for the size. I suspect that a civilian ship
of that size would have had at least twice the tdw.

Added the MV Benledi, on the high tech page; a wicked fast ship in her time at 24.8 knots!
Member of the famous Ben Line and the first British ship made into a model by Revell, and yours truly, built her in 1973 Very Happy
see here: http://www.ben-line.org.uk/Benledi%20plastic%20kit.htm
and here: http://www.merchantnavyofficers.com/brakebulkliners.html

This last url also delves into some of the changes brought about, to the ships/ports/people, in a short period by containerisation

Oriental Exporter ex Peisander looks rather good as a container carrier, I think I may well make that one for my game, I need a few more early ships on my site.

Yeah, most of them disappeared in less then 10 years, as did some of their owners...
The Peisander was the blue funnel line?
Even the Encounter Bay (which is in the game) is mentioned
as the first generation full container ship under the british flag, but was german built.
So with this change began the big die off of british yards too.
And then came the change in the ports, which essentially hadn't changed in a thousand years, river ports basically down town except for the refineries, maybe. Almost all container ports are brandnew in new locations, that holds true even for Southampton in a way
Awesome change in a hurry ! Of course Goole survived and even prospered by catering to different needs.
I only made a few container ships and mostly smaller than the Peisander,
so that would make her a nice addition for that period Smile
I was kind of concentrating on filling the tanker gap between the London Loyalty and the Jahre Viking in the early years, and some offshore and tugs, after there was a decent coaster fleet of course Wink
Well that's my ramblings for the day Laughing

Yeah the tanker gap is big, I have 3 ships for early in the game that are smaller than the Jahre Jiking.....

the 1979 Marine Pacific (404536 DWT)

the 1977 Stenna Queen (457841 DWT)

the 1979 Sea Giant (555046 DWT)

Well ok so they might only be a tiny bit smaller than the Jahre Viking and they are still ULCC tankers Rolling Eyes

I did make a start on some of the old T class tankers from WWII as several of these found their way into merchant service after the war, but its just one of the many unfinished projects.
