Good Day
I see that the forum is very quite and not much "talking"!
As a matter of interest who has been on this site?
www.marinetraffic.com
Was watching the Berge Bond passing our area in Westerly direction enroute to South America.
Greetings and all Europeans must enjoy the summer!!!

I have not seen that web site before.
I do check the forums on a weekly basis to see if there are any updates or announcements, but Have no urge to post. _________________ Cheers

Hi folks,
I have come across the website already - looking which ships are moving in the port o Hamburg.
I'm looking in here from time to time - but not much new to write about.
So I keep silent
Best Regards,

Hello
Now the forum is not "drifting" anymore, maybe making way LOL
Matthew
What has happened with the hosting of your files? Are they still available or "lost" to the POC-community?
Have a great day.

My files are not lost, I can email them to anyone who wants them.
I have still not found anywhere to host them. _________________ Cheers

Why not starting an open source repository at github.com where all POC addon creators can add and maintain their addons in a common environment.
Pros:
- Users can download the entire repository as zip-file.
- Repository owners can offer explicit downloads.
- Nothing gets lost even if a creator quits.
Cons:
- No simple image preview, but ...
Pros:
- ... I could write a program, that generates a HTML page incl. download links and
- someone (maybe me and/or a/the creator/s) could host it.
- As images and downloads are located at the github repository there will be not much traffic on the hosting server/s.
I'd like to start the repository "POC-user_addons", if someone is interested in joining me. |

I think the forum is quiet because there is not much development in PoC from RDK side. Especially not for the PC. I think new development will give more reactions on the forum. _________________ Freight Containers In The Port Of Antwerp |

I just created the repository https://github.com/BerndGabriel/poc-user_addons.
I will upload my complete treasure collected from the well known POC user addon sites.
Anyone can download the repository as ZIP file from there, which is ready to extract into the POC's user_addons folder.
If one of the authors doesn't like me to offer his works, please kindly drop a note here in this topic.
@rdk: may I add your readme.txt files which reside in the user_addons folder to the repository?
Thanks
Bernd Gabriel |

Hi there!
Even if I really like the idea, putting those files in GitHub means making them public (e.g. by forking your project), which might not be the intent of the authors, even if they indeed put them on a web server. As an example, I sometimes found very small errors on some files (e.g. a wrong picture name), and I did change them on my PC. However, doing this on a public project might not be something liked by the authors.
In my opinion you should contact the authors to have their agreement on publishing those files.
Best regards,
Nerby |

@Bernd thats ok of course,
@Nerby also fine but if there errors let me know to correct them Ic an change them in my master also and update the poc versions (such smaller things are possible anytime),
next update will be pocxxl with the waterline and pocsim3dII with a new harbour and replacement for New York (planned in around 3 weeks).
we did a nice project with a ship controler for a Museum in the last months, so I hope to present you some fotos soon. It works with 3 screens for the front view and one extra for radar and speed. Some improvements I can also move to the pocsim3dii version. |
