I appreciate that esp. the network game will be sophisticated, because I think that a sole game is getting boring very quickly. At first, I think, that there should be created a solution so that the players can play simultaneously and do not have to wait for each others decisions. Therefore I suggest, that the game will not stop while a player is choosing the new freight in an harbour. But, there should be a game speed definable when a player is choosing freight or making decisions. If a ship is arriving in a harbour, game speed could change to this level so that the player can choose his new freight. Only, if another decision is due the game would have to be stopped. But also in this case, it could be considered that they are getting in queue and that other ships are considered as laying up for some hours... If all players are deciding, however, the game could be stopped.
Finally this way would give the network game a real stressing character. And also, with the choice of the alternate speed of zero it could be played in sequences like now. But it is important to know and discuss this in advance, because it also affects the single player game which concept should be prepared for a network game. |

It will be half and half, you can simulatous play till a sync event occurs, that is all can handle the captains wall at the same time, all can handle their storm etc. events at the same time, but you have to wait till the last has loaded his ship for the next step, so this is faster than the current one after the other on a single computer, and slower than an unsynced game -- we will try this aproach first. |

OK, your right. In later game states, it does not really depend on, if it is simultaneous or sequential because all ships are handled in the end of the day...
