In this version there are no Reports which tell you the earnings per ship, or the ammount of running costs.
Would it be possible to create textfile, where all earnings and costs are detailled listed? Every event (or week) the list is updated with the newest information.
I think with this file every one can make every calculation (Kostenrechnung) he wants AND we can make RDK suggestions which calculations we want to have.
Layout for the file could be:
Date: Date
Type: Running costs office, canal fees, refuel, repair, smuggling, ...
Ship: Shipname
Cargo-type: passengers, TEU, Oil, ... (and REFUEL)
Cargo-quantity: (if cargo-type REFUEL the quantity of the refuel)
Ammount: earnings (+), costs (-)
I think this feature could be easy implemented.
What do you think? |

Why do you put REFUEL in cargo? I don't quite are with your interface definition, but the idea is a good. It is true, we need a better basis to analyse the profitabiltiy of our companies and ships. You thing if RDK just appeds these bills to a text file its easier for him? That why you suggested it?
I mean why not suggest these analysis to be made by the program itself?

OK the cargo refuel is not necesary because it is listed in Type, but as quantity it is necesary to calculate the price per ton. |

Yes this is a good idea, we will implement it, we might need to change our save system before, otherwise it will get very slow (or we can split it in an additional info file which can be loaded faster ).. |

It could be integrated into the closing features of the game when prompted, or on the running window as a seperate analysis when required, as you are playing

Welll, maybe there could be a seperate screen where you can see detailed informations about costs and earnings about the ship. It's more easy to use then a seperate text-file. If it is to complex for a screen there could be an simple version like for the trains (only earnings-costs) in RailRoad Tycoon.
Greetings

Hello,
You could make the GUV in the office more detailed.
So you can see the different costs and not only the general costs complete. So I think itīs a way to take away this problem.

All the better if it's easy to implement .
It would make a good "help function" to find out what the effects are when one changes the way in which a ship is run (e.g. speed, maintenance, repairs, etc., etc., ...) |

Hi All,
Well, that would be something, perhaps a monthly (printable) overview from loads done, money made, costs made, etc.
This was already discussed earlier in this forum, perhaps even make it possible to make the reports exportable, as a excell file !!!

I find the new "ship statistic" very helpful
Here is an example of the difference between big ships global and little ships in the european tramp trade based on 6 months operation.
Ship: Wolanda, 365 tdw:
Total income - 244 000
expenses - 107 000
maintenance - 76 000
penalties - 18 000
fuel - 6 000 @ 80$ ton average
crew - 14 000 @ 30$ p/d
mortgage - 0000 some vessels have a mortgage
result = 134 000
Tug - 350 $ per ocurrence
As you can see, maintenance is the majority of the cost followed by time penalties
with small tankers or RoRo vessels (that can haul only 11 containers)
it gets even trickier due to the fact that they have to dead head back
most of the time.
average trip length is 5 days add 3 days harbor each time
average cargo pays 15 000
No ship in this fleet is over 500 tons or faster than 12 knots.
But it is fun to watch the pennies drop
