i'm 28 from istanbul, turkey.
i started playing this game in the good old amiga days when i was in the high school. it was a very good game and fun to play.
what a coincidence, i studied in the itu maritime faculty and became an oceangoing watchkeeping officer now i'm a second mate on the container ships of a turkish company. and since i've found out poc in the pc, i'm playing with as much fun as in the old amiga days. i enjoy playing the big harbour with extra ships (funny to see the tanker in the container terminal though) and poc xxl company with container ships.

Hi there,
I'm Jan, 24 years old. I studied Maritime Officer on Terschelling in the Netherlands.
I've done my traineeship on containerships of a dutch/english company which is now sold to the Danish Baby Blue company
Then after traineeship I joined as a mate a dutch company with small chemical tankers(from 2500 GT to 6500 GT).
Now as of october 1st I'm going to start for a big German container company and I can't wait to get underway with them.
So this is me......
Cheers mate,
Jan _________________

Hi all
I am writing this for my Farther who is 75 years old he loves POC in all its versions. Used to play it on my old Amiga. He loves the new version as he was an old Merchant seaman he reckons it is most realistic. Keep up the good work |

Hello, my name is Terje, I am 28 and live in Norway. I study archeology of all things, but come from a rather long line of sailors (from what my mother told me I am the first one in her family not to go to sea for 5 generations...), still have a love for the seas and shipping, and as such this is a great game I really enjoy playing. Played it first on Amiga many years ago, and just rediscovered it, ordered the platinum as already mentioned, the effort to make this game deserves all the support we can give it. |

Hi all,
My name is Benoît, I'm from France, I'm 39 and I'm an IT system administrator in an industrial corp, at last someone who's nothing to do with shipping.
I played PoC a long time ago ('round 1990) on my first PC... I rediscovered it a few months ago and got a Gold licence, for now it's enough for my happiness but I know one day I'll get a Platinum : when I'll get enough time to replay all the games that inspired me instead of developping my own.
PoC was one of my inspirations in the game I'm currently trying to desing, which is a space merchant game. In fact I first called it Stars of Call in hommage for what I thought a long-forgotten jewel, then some months later I searched to see if PoC still existed. I then was immensely glad to find it still existed and had expanded far beyond what it was at the time I played it. _________________ @+

Hi all,
My name is Jeremy Shambaugh and I have played PoC for a couple years only, discovered it while searching the internet for a shippiing "tycoon" simulation type game as I attended (and graduated this spring) from Maine Maritime Academy in the USA as a Marine Science major. Currently I am working on a research vessel off the coast of NJ conducting a hydrogpraphic survey (or being part of the scientific party doing the survey).

Well here goes me.
To start i'm not as tallented as many of you who have educations or careers in the shipping business.
My name is Patrick. I'm37 from New Jersey and i'm a big fan of POC. For years I was a chef but became a Mr Mom and took care of my 3 kids so my wife could persure her high paying career ( she makes more so I got stuck- LOL ).
Currently I am a forklift operator and lumber receiver for The Home Depot. I unload flatbed tractor trailers and put the lumber away. |

Hello!
My name is Martin, I am from Swedan and studying at Kalmar Maritime Academy.
When im writing this it is my third year at school and I will be finished June 2007.
I have been on two ships so far,
M/T Vinga Mathilda, Swedia Shipping
M/V Finnpine, Transatlantic
The summer of 2006 I am going on my last trainee period at school,
this time I want to go onboard one of Wallenius Lines vessels but it is not up to me to decide.
Started to play PoC on my old Amiga but now I have come to my senses and purchased PoC for my PC.
Looking forward to Sim3DII!
Have a nice day! _________________ // Martin Gärdeman |

Hi all,
My name is Gijs Segers (25), graduated naval architect (2004) and currently working for the best company in the world (when it comes to heavy lift vessels) DOCKWISE!.
www.dockwise.com <<< look it up!
Been playing POC since 2002 every now and then.
and pretty annoyed by the fact that it's taking a long time to implement online multiplayer
I know those guys have limited funds and staff.... so patience is the key.
(oh and if this hasn't been posted: USE THE FREE GOOGLE EARTH TO GET DETAILED INFO OF HARBOURS ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!!)
And get them in 3d, since 2D is so very 80's
Regards,
Gijs _________________ Archimedes?? Nooit les van gehad |

Sooo many PoCer!!! Hi all!
I´m a 50 years old bus- and tramdriver living 30 km south of Frankfurt (germany).
For me PoC is that game, what brings me to the commercial simulations. And, I don´t know why, I love ships. I played it in the late 80th on my Amiga. Hours and hours, nights and nights. Together with one or two friends, or alone. The ingenious was the actionsequences in a, normaly, dry comsym. Never found that in this way in an other comsym till now. Now i found it for pc. I played the one hour demo, watched the homepage and got the platinum, because i was indebted for it about the many time i spend on the amiga with it. And now I have the XXL version and i found no more time to do other things.
Thank you very much, rdklein.
Have fun all
