|
|
I have just started a basic web site for people to download the ships I am making for my game, if anyone wants them for their game feel free to use them.
Only thing I ask is that these are not passed arround without my permission.
If rdklein want them to be added to the main game then thats cool as well
only a couple of liners on there at the moment but I have several more ships to add when I get time.

enjoy! _________________ Cheers

Save the side view of the ships go into the folder (if you have default location) C:\Program Files\poc\pocxxl\ships\new_ships
the data is added to the xml file in the folder C:\Program Files\poc\pocxxl\ships\ship
the top down view is added to the folder C:\Program Files\poc\pocxxl\harbors\sim2d\tships
The top down view needs to have its file name changed to the same as the side view for it to work. _________________ Cheers

I have not yet copied the ships, but I have added selfmade harbours to my town list.
The tricky thing was the INDEX number of each town. This must be in sequence. Having seen the ships, some ships have the same indexnumber (997, 998).
I think in order to have the addition work properly, you must adjust the indexnumber of each ship, in sequence with the indexnumber of the last ship of the original shiplist.

I hadn't thought about the top down view in the past, will have to look into that.
I seldom use the sim part of the game, is the top view what the sendfile and the offset/scale are for? _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

I did one top view, but didn't make it to scale, so promptly it wouldnt fit into the "blue" field and I had to hit: Give Up"
I assume the computer generates the size of the blue field based on size? Top view has to be to scale? In essence 1 pixel @0.91 meters?
after I reduced the picture size to scale it seemed to work ok, its just that I like bigger pictures for my small ships
If I changed the size in the ship file would that make the blue field bigger too ?
What determines the blue field size? Anybody know? _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

The way I got the size was to find a ship that is in the game the same kinda size open it and see what the dimentions are.
for example, the Berge Vik that I have just done is 331.50m long and the Tanker Front Tartar on the game is 332.04m long so all I needed was to make it a tiny bit shorter and a tiny bit narrower (Berge Vik is 57.20 Front Tartar 60). _________________ Cheers
Top down view for the Bulk ship Alfred N added
Just had a quick look - did you realise you have drawn her with 7 hatches in profile but 8 on the top down??
Otherwise all looks good, I hope RDK can integrate these into the game? |
