ok, it's been awhile since i've been around due to sailing and all that, so please bear with me!!
First off, i deleted my post on the sound option: 1) it was in the wrong section, and 2) someone else had already asked that... over a year ago!!! My bad!
Would it be possible to incorporate in the options a 'one-off ship rule'? by that i mean whatever vessels kara sells, there is only one built (ie a single andania or jahre viking etc, in the entire game, for all vessels sold by kara. the appeal for this would be very interesting in multiplayer, since if everybody in the game wants the jahre viking, well, there's only one available!! and if it sinks, too bad, no replacement! this way you can't build a fleet of a single type (even if the vessels are quantified after x number of years, i found it rather easy to buy a whole slew of jv, etc...). the reason i ask it as a an option is so as to not interfere with those who do like building fleets...
thanks _________________ 2003:I've worked on MTU engines this summer; when I die i'll probably go to heaven, since i've been through hell already....

Hi,
You can arrange this yourself by editing the ship0.xml file manualy. change all vallues of <maxshipavailable>5</maxshipavailable> to 1 and you have only 1 ship available.
But an extra option in the KARA menu wuold be nice too.
Greetings, |

That wont really work as you will still get the option of 1 ship per year every year.
Also new ships there is no limit. _________________ Cheers

I could swaer when you have 1 ship in the xml file that's all you get, now I have to try again... I tend to make those numbers high since I like fleets and then I end up buying only 1 or 2 anyways
sound option would be ok, then I could play Freddy instead
I assume just turning off the speakers isn't quite the same? _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

After that, when the ship model becomes "pre-owned", Kara's get enough ships of that model available to "fill out" the total to the specified max value. If the number of ships in use at that time is equal to or greater than the max value, then Kara's will have none (until a shipping company sell their back to Kara's).
I have no idea what happens when you sell "excess" ships back, if they're dropped from the game or continue to be available.
Cheers

Understood
re, your quote:
May I suggest MaK main engines and Deutz auxilaries?
MaK worked for 50 years on the "Egerland", The Boat and numerous other ships
And Deutz is just plain a good engine, especially the aircooled aux
for english tidal ports. _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |
