				| It would be nice if the programming was expanded to include the "water" in essence the "routing" above 68 degree latitude to be able to access northern Norway and Russian / Siberian Ports...
Is it feasible to build that into an update?

				| Well, the Norwegian harbors are about fish and such out consumer goods in. Possibly Oil related activities. The Russian harbors are metals like Nickel, lumber and such out, consumer goods and foodstuffs in.

and of course the one ship in the game the "Norilsk" is from Norilsk, Siberia and can't go to her homeport in the game....

Ah... that makes sense to me RDK. but how would one flag the ships as ice worthy or some such ?
as far as the season I assume the seaway is closed from December to May?

I shall line up all my ice going coasters at Tromsø to be ready,
the first one back gets the big money

				| yes thats a great idea also, I think we can do a rather quick implementation. Maybe someone can help and send me a modified map or a schematic, where ships can go as this info is not very easy to find. | |

				| The website http://www.portfocus.com/ gives links to a lot of ports. It also gives the coordinates of some of them. A lot of ports have the coordinates in their datasheet. Also including info about wether or not the harbour is available all year etc etc. _________________

				| Murmansk, Dudinka, Nordvik and Tiksi seem to be the major ports along the northern route, plenty of others of course... _________________

				| hi,don't forget archangelsk(timber) and kirkenes(former iron ore port, but i heard they closed the mine).even the north west passage would be fine in the gtame.also the norwegians are building a gas export port somewhere in the north.and when the global warming continues in the same way,we don't need any icebreakers in north, but maybe some more flooding shelter in the low countries and germany.... brgds and a happy new year 2007,mooringman. | |

Those are on my map Mooringmann
I just highlighted the others since I figured RDK would probably only add one or 2 harbors max... with us adding the rest as usual

The real issue here is not which harbor to exlude but to "open" the waters above latitude 68º.

And that's definitely a job only RDK can do, besides that will benefit all players including those that have no inclination to add harbors and such.

I got info on at least a dozen harbors already, Tromsø, Hammerfest, Kirkenes, Vardsø, Petsamo, Murmansk, Archangelsk, Belomorsk a.s.f. all the way to the bering strait
There is an amazing amount of activity in the high north, thats for sure.
Although trying to read some of these websites in russian is a chore all by itself !
