Is there anyway an option could be added to auto refuel ships as soon as they enter port?
I seem to be spending most of the time filling them up, most ships tend to need to be fueled up each time they reach the destination anyway, the only time when i dont do this is in the early game when money is tight. _________________ Cheers

as the price varies, this only makes sense if we add an option to refule on a certain price limit for example -- maybe I enter an option in the office.
But we have to be careful no to have too man automatic options (like play all for me). |

I have no problem with refuelling.
I always check the current price and follow a simple rule-of-thumb: If the fuel is "expensive" I fill it up to 50%, if the fuel price is "average" I fill it up to 75% and if it's "cheap" I fill it all up.
Then I adapt travel speed to match the fuel available (with a few days to spare).
Cheers

hi,
still doing it the same way ... as long as fuel doen't reduce the tdw (like it is in real)
this gives me the security to be allways "on the save side" while crossing the oceans (bad weather, riffs etc which still need time and fuel)
if the system would be changed to tdw=displacement-weights (ship, store, crew, fuel etc) i think i have to be much more careful about fueling.
in reality:
each ton of unneeded fuel reduces the cargo / payload.
therefore all companies calculate fuel as small as possible.
if the ship can carry thousands tons of fuel (like giant container vessel etc) it is surely a diffence if the vessel carries e.g. 20.000tons of unused fuel or 20.000tons of well paid cargo.
but who knows: maybe RDK might change the system of payload calculations |

I think what is really being objected to is the long time one has to watch the level of black "goop" to rise...
We don't watch for an hour as the load is dropped into the ship, you load and click, its loaded!
So it doesn't need to be "auto" it just needs to be fast!
click, choose, click.
Just click on how much, get your bill, and get on with it . _________________ Frohe Reise, Bearsie. |

maybe RDK can make a button so you can make a choice to do, or auto refuling or manual.

on the ai player, at the start phase and expert modus the fuel price is very dominant, if the ai player only chooses any price, its loosing quickly, thats my experience. You might compensate this by other strategy of course. |
