afaik you can't change the company names.
RDK is right if he's cautious using real company names. The 3D ship simulator ShipSim uses Bearsk for example, as Maersk Lines doesn't want them to use their name and logo in the game. _________________ Freight Containers In The Port Of Antwerp |

I totally agree with you. The stock market should be tied closer to your business as a shipowner.
A few suggestions in that regard:
1. One should be able to apply for listing at the stock exchange after reaching a certain size in the game. Today there is not problem getting listed even a smaller company, say with 2-300,000 deadweight tonnes.
2. You will then have the option to make a share float, issue new shares, and raise money via the stock market. You will use this money along with debt to grow further.
3. Your shareprice needs to be tracked by your long-term value-creation, personal status in the game, dividend yield and current rates and ship values.
4. One should also be able to buy stakes in other company, and even make an offer for an entire other company. This makes the need for more details of in game companies. |
