Hi every body
I am playing Port of Call XXL with Sim3D intergrated, and I have 2 problems.
-When I try to doc a ship by hand I place the ship in the box and there is a message saying (stop your engine), I stop the engine and the ship is not miving at all, there is no trusters on and the stearing is in the middle position but the mission dont want to stop and Nothing is happening.
-When I drive my ship, it is verry verry slow to response.
My computer is a DELL with 2 CPU of 2.33 GHz with 2046 MB of RAM, my video card is a NVIDIA Quadro FX 2500M
Can you help me please??? |

You mean pocsim3d II or pocsim3d. I assume pocsim3dii,
-
which ship and which harbour do you use so I can check for the problem.
Also try a gamepad for navigation which is easier to handle. But usually the speed should have a raster to be exact 0 speed. -- It also depends on which level you play.
on the FX2500 which is a notebook grafic card (the 7900 equivalent as far as I know); how much memory does it have,
and what is the FPS rate (Press X in the main scene to see this).
general notebooks have a problem with the large scenes of pocsim3dII, or need a large texture memory at least 256 MB seperate from the main memory.
Also try to get a new driver for the card. |

Yes , it is pocsim3d II
The ship I use is the Trelyon and the problem is happening with all the harbour that I use. I play the level master but I have those problem in all level.
My grafic card have 512 MB of memory and the Graphic Memory Bandwidth is 38,4 GB/sec , for the FPS I canot find it.
I have the good driver for my graphic card |

I know it was a known bug a year ago or so. There are other threads on this forum discribing the same problem. I thought it was fixed back than. RDK can give you the answer you're looking for imo. _________________ Freight Containers In The Port Of Antwerp |

I also thought it was fixed.
also strange for master of course the condisitons for a halt are more restricted, for beginner, the ship can get there more relaxed and has a much larger area to stop, so there must be a difference. If it says stop the engines, you bring them to zero speed that is sufficient for beginner for master also the speed knob must be zero and the side rudders must be zero.
Also try a gamepad as this is different tahn using the keyboard.
anybody else having this problem ???
also be sure to upgrade to the latest version ! |

Hello !!
Do you hear a shiphorn sounding two times after placing the ship in the box and stop all engines ??
If yes and you use a gamepad you must press the left of the 4 buttons on the right sight. On my gamepad it has the numer 1 printed on.
Only then the simulation ends.
Could be, that this may be the problem.
Greetings

made the same experience when i played about 2 weeks ago.
i think it still is a problem of the keyboard steering 'cause there
was never a problem for me steering with a joypad.

Yes I found what we have done,
press the END Key at the keyboard this will bring the engines to a full stop as the arrow keys might not return exactly to zero.
The HOME key will stop the side rudders.
tell me if this was helpful. |

I dont have any gamepad to try if it's gone a work but I am gone to by one.
I apreciate the fact that you are trying to help me
Thanks |
