Hi,
when i get the message "Ship is crossing" before berthing in a harbour, in 95% of all cases my ship is damaged (in expert mode).
No chance of reaction when it comes a ship about 500m in front of me and i have 15 knts. It takes too much time until the ship changes direction/speed.
I made now 20 Sessions in the training mode. No way.
How can i preserve my ships from damages???
I think this part of the game is not really realistic.

which ship have you used in the trainging so I can check,
the behavior is totally different for each ship (as its combined with another one).
As strategy immediatly change the course to left or right with full speed. |

Hello Mr. Klein,
i used different ships (actual 12)
addon ships and "normal" ships. Tanker, Bulk, Liners, Container ...
For example: Liner "Royal Princess" - Tanker "Al Awdah" "Front Tartar" - COntainer "Hyundai Admiral"
Also in the training mode i used different ones.
Sometimes i have (wiht the same "adon" ship) a great radar range (little silhouette in the middle) and somtimes a very little one (big silhouette and only 3 or 4 circles around the ship). Bizarre.
The only ships that worked good was the SS United States and the Hyundai Admiral because of the speed i think.

attention, you used user addon ships ???
they dont have an assigned ship shape I think this is the cause. Currently the user addons are not fully supported.
Have you tried with the original ships,
the tanker "Al Awdah" is not my ship I havent tested it in the ship radar.
The ship needs a ply file (this is not good suppported for addon ships at the moment),
anyway we just prepare an update for pocxxl, I will see what I can add for user addon ships. |

for entering a port, 15 knots is a very high speed, some old seafarers say fullspeed = foolspeed.
maybe the problem with the damage can be solved by a reduced speed. |

I thought the speed in the simulation was still under discussion? Cause of the long time it takes to sail through some harbours? _________________ Freight Containers In The Port Of Antwerp |

in this case its the speed in the radar collision event from foreign ships when I understood right -- not in the normal simulation (according to the thread title)
-
i wont change the max speed in the harbous as then the trips take even longer than now. |

you mean for example the jahre viking,
yes it is , I probably have to change the scale for the radar view for such ships, so you have a longer distance and move the other ship further away. |
