Hello Rolf,
It has been a very long time since I played POC. The last time on line update was in 1.0.9. July 2009. There are a lot of new ports that I'm missing.
What must I do to bring my game up to date.
Cheers

yes I know, I need a little bit more time for the next update. But the new ports can be added as a user update. |

G'day Rolf,
You said - the new ports can be added as a user update. How? When I click on the update all I get are the instruction manual and Dutch instructions.
When I bought the game disk it is 0.99.13 version. Would it be better for me to purchase the latest up to date disc instead?
Cheers

hello frank,
i recommend you to use the onlineupdate,
which will update your version of poc to
v. 1.0.9 i think. (i'd have to look it up...)
that version provides you with an folder named "user updates".
Instead of downloading each port and ship from the site of the
guys who made them i would ask Sparky for his compilation of the most shipas and harbors.
You have to put thar files then in the user_addons folder.
That should work.
with best regards from Schwenningen,

Christian,
Yes it is v 1.0.09 however my version hasn't got user update button. All it has is online update which as i have mentioned only has th eDutch updates and instruction manual. I do have th euser_addon switched on bt nothing happens.
As for the user_addons folder - I have been unable to locate it. I have a very strong feeling I might have part of the game information missing

The user_adddon folder should usually be in the root folder of pocxxl.
A ingame button to download the user addons doesnt exist,
so one has to take a complete compilation like the mentioned
or you have to download each file and put it manually in the right folders, which is quite time consuming....
if you want, i can provide you with my user addons folder,
although i have only few ships, as i concentrate on putting in the ports.
best regards,

Christian,
I certainly would like your assistance with your user_addon folder. I must point out that I do need step by step help in how to install them.
Question - once I install yours does that mean that I than lose the opportunity to buy other ships on offer, in other words I can only use yours
Cheers

no that doesn't mean you have only my ships.
The new versions of poc have a tickbox at the startscreen to switch on the user addons.
Once you have ticked the box and the X is in it, you have the ships and ports in the folder as additional ones!! _________________ Navigare neccesse est |

Hello Christian
It has been a while since I spoke to you, I have been involved in a motorcycle accident resulting in a broken hip and leg. We spoke about add-ons, I did click th ebox as per your suggestion but nothing has happened. I still believe that my version of POC is way behind the latest update
Cheers

Hello together,
ive uploaded my harbors and goods folder to my website:
http://home.arcor.de/ctodt/addons/harbors.exe
http://home.arcor.de/ctodt/addons/goods.exe
these are from my user_addonfolder and both need to be extracted to
this folder.
My game contains all asian, south american
and African ports from bigbears website.
It still lacks all those nice European and North american ports...
I wish everybody a nice first advent....
With best regards from snowy Villingen-Schwenningen,

Christian and Rolf.
I have found a problem with my POC which perhaps might explain why my game although is up to date is still 'behind' everyone elses.
I tried to down load Christian add ons but I'm having a major problem. I have just found out that under Simulator 3D I am unable to access 3d set-up, on-line update and pocSIM 3D. I keep getting a Unable to locate file than I get a message saying would I like to fix it and when I say yes I get a message saying Invalid Parameters
What do I do?
Something else I have noticed, Even with very large ships I rarely ever get a consignment which is in the high millions . There was a time I use to get a freight worth 8 or so million now all I get are 2 or 3 million? |
