Henri,
of course someone knows Braren of Kollmar. I´ve been acting as agent on Cellus, Timbus and Forrester many times, and I liked it. Is it going to be one of these?

I guess I'm really the "Old Man and the Sea". I'm 58. I have my Captain's License, but I'm really a management consultant. I've consulted on management and marketing for several shipping companies and ship chandlers over the years. By the way, in my spare time, I have 42 adult websites ... not because I'm Twisted Evil but because that's where the money on the Internet is Rolling Eyes

I am Konan or Henrik (thats my real name) but nowone call me that.
I am 23 years old and i live in Sweden.
WHen i was young my grandfather used to work at the oil-docks in Norrköping.
I went to seamens school in Visby (sweden) and i finished my schooltime of on a Swedish ship (M/V Corner Brook) from B&N. We was transporting paper from NewFoundland in cannada down to Florida. We also did a cupple of turns to europe.
After about half a year the crew onboard was swapped out with fine Polish seamens and i find myself without a job. I dident have enough time at sea to call myself an experiensed seamen and i couldent find any job as an unexperienced one.
So nowdays i work as an database programer for a mikribiology computer system.
Me and my friends used to sit for numeros of houres and listen to 60's music and play PoC on the Amiga. But we dident have any licens back then.
When i did find out about PoC XXL i ordered a Platinum lices right away...
I kind of miss the sea....

I am a 36 year old police officer working with the National Counter Intelligence Unit. I started playing POC in 1988 (for the Amiga) when I lived in Germany. I forgot all about the game until I found a hacked copy for PC five months ago on the Internet.

I found the web site on the hacked game and decided to give it a try and was I surprised to find out the game was alive and better than ever. I purchased a Platinum License and love playing the game.

Everybody,

Some people here at the forum may already know me a bit from some of the topic discussions regarding the PoC Classic in the last little while.

My name is Jim, I'm 35 years old and I'm a tradesman in both the areas of cabinetmaking & drafting. I live in S.W. British Columbia, Canada in the outskirts of Vancouver. I too am probably the exception, I've never worked in the shipping industry in any capacity. My father works at the Port of Vancouver as a partsman for a company that repairs reefers for the shipping containers that come and go through the harbour. I consider myself a fair & simple person who takes the time to enjoy the "little things in life". It's part of my nature to pay attention to detail, in everything I do and in all aspects of my life.

I have a wide variety of interest & hobbies. Like any true Canadian, my first love is hockey. I also follow (european) football or soccer as most Canadians refer to it. I enjoy Formula 1 & C.A.R.T. auto racing and well as many other local & international sports.

My interests that relate to Ports of Call or the shipping industry most likely formed as I grew older. Some of these related interests, aside from a fascination with ships, would include: world trade, finances, worldwide import & export cargos, world stock markets, world currency, geography, ocean currents, atmospheric weather and world cities - to name most of them. I usually go out of my way to gather information on anything & everything that interests me. I guess you could refer to me as a "human sponge". Very Happy

I like to help others whenever I can, even people I've never met in person. Sharing with others is something I also like to do. (see Poc Classic Forum) Like many other people, I had a unofficial version of PoC for my Amiga 500 & 2000. I came across RDK's website around 1999 or 2000 and kept track of how the new IBM version of PoC was going. At the time I didn't think I had anything to offer RDK to help out with the building of the new PoC, then I realized that buying a license would do just that.

I'm considering purchasing a platinum license in the near future to support the creators of what I believe is the best trading game/sim I've ever played. I don't own a credit card as yet, so I'll have to figure something out. Confused

As you can see (or read), I like to communicate with others. I wouldn't consider myself as a "gabber", I just enjoy talking to others that have the same interests - PoC. I always welcome feedback, emails and such - good or bad. Very Happy

I hope everyone continues to enjoy playing Ports of Call !

Sincerely,
Jim C.

Hiya,

My nickname is Lemming's, since my friends and my were playing that game in the good old days of Amiga's era. I also played POC at this time. I am 25 years old (soon 26 but I'll claim 25 'till the last minute), and I'm a Lotus Notes databases developer.
Last year, I was in South Korea for a holidays trip. While walking in the port of Pusan, I was just looking at these enormous cargo ships, dreaming I could just climb on them and leave for anywhere... Then POC reappeared in my memory, and when I came back I tried to find an Amiga emulator and a dump copy of the game. How wonderfully surprised I was, when I found that a new release was being developed, moreover by the orignal authors!

For those who are interested, you will find a few pictures of Pusan on my website: http://www.ifrance.com/lemmings/asie/busan/index.html (the comments are in French). Particularly, here is one of the pictures of the port, took from the Pusan Tower: http://www.ifrance.com/lemmings/asie/busan/14.jpg .

Regards to all crew,

Lemming's

Hi everyone

My name is Thorsten. I am 27 yrs. old and i work as a it system engineer for Computacenter in Germany. I live in a small town called Langen near Frankfurt/Main.
I played PoC on my old Amiga for a very long time!
Then i paused all my computer gaming for a few years because of my puberty. Wink
Now that i am grown up (at last) and been in it business for years a colleague of mine drew my attention on the PoC homepage.
Et voilá...here i am, back again.
And this time i will stay with PoC as long as i can move my mouse! Confused

There was a lot of people here - and if you really want to read another one you can read this. I'll make it short.

I'm a 22 year old male living just outside Bergen in Norway. I moved here 1 year ago with my wife (then she was my girlfriend..) Before that i lived in Bærum near Oslo. I'm currently a busdriver while looking for something more exciting, but it aint easy to find since the unemployment rate are growing. Maybe i should be happy to have a job Wink

I started playing POC on my Amiga 500 many many years ago. Unfortunatly my Amiga power supply is broken so if anyone has one extra and wants to ship it to me - yes please Exclamation

Now i'll give to word to the next person who wants to write here

Hello,

I'm 38 years "old". Profession: technical writer.

Played POC on DOS. One day I was curious if the game still
existed, searched the Internet and found RDK's website. Surprised

I'm now playing POCXXL (platinum) and enjoying every minute of it. Very Happy
