yes a visit might be a very good idea ! we have to check whether saturday or friday late afternoon might be a good date or sunday morning .
- the museum might be a good place for a evening trip also for example. (looks liek we need a week for the convention -- hmm) |

... for this kind of gathering.
Says a Norwegian gamer...
When this is started to get more than talking, please add a area on the site thats more easy to find information on than the forum.
there can be real difficult to actually find the "active" idea inside here, without reading all the answers.... |

Wow there certainly has been a lot going on in the POC Community during the last months For the first time in ages I finally had the opportunity to sit down with POCXXL for a longer period of time, and it has improved vastly since the last time i played it, although I still have to get used to some of the newer features.
Anyway, this idea of a convention in Rotterdam sounds great, I will most definitely try to go there ! I may not be that experienced when it comes to technical details in Shipping, but I'd love to meet & exchange opinions with a huge part of the POC fan community, and also visiting Rotterdam for once is appealing
regarding the date, I'd also prefer the summer holidays (end july, beg. august), as we have exams at the end of june, and I really cannot afford to miss them... _________________ Navigare necesse est |

hope the response and poll continues, currently only 11 will come fore sure and 13 maybes which gives 24 on the conference, usually only half comes --- we also need more funding, currently the numebr of new registeres is dropping (hope we dont have all poc players of the world now ?) you can see it in the hall of fame also, only very little amout .--
we really need funds and help to speed up the development --
the currenty economic situation in germany is so bad that this is really helpful for us. |

Who's planning this?
What's gonna be the cost?
Maybe it's a good idea to have a way to 'officially sign up', pay in advance, etc. |

well a this stage nothing is for sure
this is just a "look around" to see who is interested and so on....nothing for sure nothing mandatory... it is just to see if it makes sense to make one at all.... _________________ Die Welt die wir geschaffen haben ist das Resulat einer überholten Denkweise

Wow, i thought it was about time to see what the POC crew was up to, this community is getting BIG!!!
BTW. I live near Rotterdam, and i might know some good relations to make that particular weekend into an educative but fun weekend, if someone needs any help, or has some questions about the city, feel free to ask, and if there can be a bus arranged, I'll be glad to show you Rotterdam from the city till the Maasvlakte ECT Delta Terminal |

Hi People
Firts of all.....this conference is one hell of a great idea!
Any news on that topic yet?
I`ve got Relatives in the Netherlands so i only had to pay the transport costs from Germany!
Anyhow i voted for the "maybe" option because of the fact that there are no definite Dates and Places until now!
Looking forward to any News!

Found a better date RDK:
You just HAVE to reconsider this:
The "Wereldhavendagen" (World Port Days Rotterdam) on 6, 7 and 8 September 2002
This year will be an exciting year for the "Wereldhavendagen"(World Port Days), because this festival will be organised for the 25th times. During this weekend the Rotterdam port gives out information about itself. Rotterdam is also celebrating the 400-year anniversary of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). Therefore they have chosen for the theme Innovation, then and now. The Netherlands' colonial past will be coming to life throughout the city. Visitors can become acquainted with ins and outs of one of the world's largest ports. The festival is just bursting with maritime, educational and cultural activities focused on the Rotterdam port and industrial area. A spectacular evening program, several excursions, demonstrations on the river Maas and company presentations will contribute to an interesting day-out for everyone.
EMO will also participate, together with EBS. On Saturday 7th September these companies can be visited. On the website of the "Wereldhavendagen", www.wereldhavenfestival.nl, you can find all information about the festival. It also contains several interesting excursions to different harbour companies. |

Actually yes, this festival brings thousands of other people throughout the world, so i don't know how crowded it is, but i think you can forget a room in the city self!
BTW. I just saw 2002 on my copy and paste, i think i'll better double check it! |
