In fact, I was talking about the good old days with a friend and decided to have a look on internet and...........YES, IT'S ALIVE AND KICKING (HARD). Hi, my name is Gijs Segers. I am an 23 year old Naval
Engineering Student from the Netherlands. I first came in contact with POC classic about 2 years ago when someone was playing it during our lunchbreak.

For about 4 weeks, I've been the proud owner of a Poc XXL platinum license. Since all good games cost at least 49 euro's in the shop, it was rather cheap! ha.

Keep up the good work,

Gijs Segers

Hi,
I'm almoust 21 (November) years old male from Switzerland. I'm studying Systems Engineering and love working (and playing Very Happy ) with Computers. I played PoC almoast as long as i can Handle a Computer (ten years at least, i think). That was on the Amiga 2000 of my father.
I love this game. I can remember to have played it with Mikado-Sticks on the floor, when i was younger. Building outlines of ports with them and using on of them as a ship to be steered in or out of these ports.

And then when i found out about PoC XXL i had to get it of course.

Thanks, for one of the best games i ever played!

Hej

I was really feeling a bit sad, reading through all these posts, finding only ONE female (hi to you!) and no one from Switzerland... but then, the last post was a guy from Switzerland (grüezi to you!). So at least I'm not a lonely girl... Laughing

I also played PoC illegally on an Amiga 500 many years ago, not knowing what I did. In fact, even though I would have known... well, I'd always liked it, it's a game you never get rid of. So I'm happy that Rdk and everyone involved have not been lazy! I have bought the platinum license right when I knew about it and think this is a worthwile investment! There are too few games which make sense like this one!

By the way: I'm 30 years old and live in the nice area of Baselland (about 25 km south of Basel). After having finished a 3year commercial school, I've worked at the world's largest home furnishing company. And I still do, since there's plenty of work to do in the quality department.

Besides playing PoC, I like to do sports, such as mountainbiking, rollerskating, skiing, snowboarding, playing tennis (viva Roger Federer!) and badminton.

Now my post gets too long... I'm sorry, I was just in a mood... enjoy the game and keep track of good freights! Good luck to all of you!

AND A BIG 'DANKESCHOEN' FOR THAT REAL PLEASURE TO RDK and the team!!! Laughing

for me is it the first time in "forum".i started to play the old game around 1987 with a amiga , a friend of mine bought a computer and got the game too.we played in a danish port called mariager one night long.he was captain and i was mate on a coaster.later i bought my own amiga and my wife and children played too.to make a long story short i finally started to discover the net in beginning of 2003 and found the poc homepage with the poc xxl.i got the platinum license and im "adicted" again.i started 1968 as decksboy and made my masters license 1976.i was on general cargo ships, bulcarriers and on one vlcc worldwide.i was two years in the paper trade for abitibi price from newfoundland to europe(78 to 80 ).from 1980 to 2001 i was on a coaster in the european trade carrying breakbulk, pulp, paper and timber.then the company changed the flag and took cheaper people.now im working in a tug boat company in lübeck/germany.poc is a yery realistic game about shipping.good job rdk.
everybody enjoy the game.brgds mooringman.

Another Aussie POCer here. I'm 19 and currently doing the final exams that will determine whether or not I can get into Law school. I'm an uptight wreck but in a week when it's over I'll be the most laid-back fellow you'll ever meet.

I'm going to upgrade my licence to Gold just as soon as I get an internet connection that can download XXL taking less than a week. Still playing Classic after all these years.

Cheers.

I am 35 years old, male, finished highschool then enlisted in the U.S. Army. I was stationed in Germany, where I bought my first Amiga and played Ports of Call.
"Jack of all trades, master of none" Smile Electronics was my greatest hobby, and enabled me to build my first computer in a time when computers were too expensive to be had without paying many thousands of dollars (Late 1970s) Go Z80! (snicker)
I currently work as chief 3D animator for a company that designs/produces music videos and television commercials. I spend my free time installing intranet networks for small businesses.
Like many people, my first experience with POC was with the infamous Amiga version. I enjoyed the game immensely. Last year, while sifting through some of my old Amiga software, I stumbled across the POC diskette. I started wondering what became of the game, and decided to take a look on the Net. I was extremely excited to find that POC was still around. I vowed I would buy the full license, even if I didn't use it to it's full extent. The original POC provided me with lots of enjoyment, and I can now play the game in the knowledge that I have FINALLY paid my dues to the author of a great game.Razz Thank you very much Herr Klein for making such a wonderful game, and for keeping it up, inspite of the all the piracy. I tip my hat to you. Smile Yes, I'm a platinum user Smile Buy it, play it, love it! Very Happy
